During the Great Depression, the WPA hired thousands of writers, artists, and photographers – not just to put a few dollars in their pockets, but to chronicle the breadth of American experience during that unique moment in history.
Now, as the US enters a new period of social, economic, and health-related instability whose dimensions are not yet known, Filmsight Productions is launching a similar project.
COVIDeos supports a diverse cohort of voices in the creation of timely, emotional responses to the current crisis.
From inner cities to rural countrysides, visual storytellers of all backgrounds share how this pandemic is impacting them, their families, and their communities.
Our goal is to support the next wave of rising talent as they reflect the fears, the hopes, the loss, the resilience, the heartbreaking and the heartwarming acts of kindness that translate across cultural, socioeconomic, and political divides. We invite you to share and support both this critical work and the next generation of talent working hard to create it.
Please donate so we can continue this vital work. Virtually all funds go directly to underemployed artists and their mentors around the country.
Thank you!
